Ushering in the Year of the Dragon, Takashimaya’s annual Lunar New Year fair is back for another year of festivities and celebrations! Situated in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s main shopping strip, we see many Singaporeans flocking to the fair to do new year shopping.
From new outfits and Lunar New Year snacks to spring cleaning must-haves and steamboat essentials, Takashimaya got you covered. This Lunar New Year, other than visiting Chinatown, why not head down to Takashimaya to do some shopping too! For both seniors and their caregivers, shopping together is an enjoyable activity that can be done together and simply to just indulge in the festivities.
In-store:
Here’s what you can expect when you visit the fair:
For the foodies, treat yourself this year with over 70 brands of auspicious treats and vibrant decorations. Expect to see festive goodies from Tai Cheong Bakery, Tai Chong Kok, Sunny Hills and Peony Jade in Takashimaya.
Enjoy the Early Bird Special promotions at up to 30% OFF on selected brands from now to Sun 21 Jan 2024!
For seniors, one pointer to take into consideration is that the fair is likely to be very crowded. For those who are susceptible to falls, do ensure that you have a caregiver with you to provide support or alternatively, time your visits to reach earlier when the fairs open to avoid huge crowds.

This year, take part in a meaningful recycling initiative by donating off your old Ang Bao! The Ang Bao (red packet) is a monetary gift given during special occasions to signify blessings. Ang means red in Hokkien and red is considered a symbol of luck, life and happiness. Every year, many of these red packets are printed and sometimes kept for years.
Riding on the success of 2021 where they collected 80kg worth of Ang Baos, Takashimaya is back again this year in collaboration with Tay Paper Recycling to encourage people to drop off used ang baos in the recycling bin to turn them into new products or reusable materials!
Location: Ang Bao Recycling Bin is located at Main Escalator, Level 1 (behind Main Stage), or The Atrium, Level 1!
Growing Needs grew out of our own encounters with caring for our aging parents and reflecting on the Growing Needs that we ourselves would face as we advance in years. We hope to build a community that will learn, share and contribute towards caring for the growing needs of our loved ones.
