As caregivers, one might get lost easily in the hustle bustle of daily caregiving duties – both mental and physical health might then take a back seat. We know that this caregiving journey is no easy feat and is one that might potentially alter the dynamics between caregivers and the care recipient.
One of the ways that caregivers can self-help is to explore courses and workshops that are targeted towards caregivers, supporting caregivers in their caregiving journey. These workshops and programs are beneficial in the sense that they impart techniques and tips to how to ace being a caregiver, ensuring that caregivers would be able to create a comfortable environment for themselves and the caregiver, whilst also putting oneself first.
To support caregivers, the Caregivers Training Grant is a $200 annual training grant that caregivers can use to offset the costs of approved courses, such as day-to-day care, behaviour management, and functional skills development in areas like stroke management and bowel care and catheter management.
Here, we shortlist some upcoming courses and workshops that are catered towards supporting caregivers in their journey:
This course is designed to support caregiver-learners by identifying and navigating the various stages of the caregiving journey.
You will learn emotional support strategies for both yourself and your care recipients. Additionally, the course aims to foster a community of support through shared experiences and mutual resolve.

Whilst it is important to care for loved ones, caregivers need to prioritise themselves and seek timely help if needed. It is totally okay to reach out for help or leverage on the many resources and community support available out there for caregivers.
Growing Needs grew out of our own encounters with caring for our aging parents and reflecting on the Growing Needs that we ourselves would face as we advance in years. We hope to build a community that will learn, share and contribute towards caring for the growing needs of our loved ones.
