This June, seniors are in for a treat as three captivating exhibitions await their exploration, and the best part? They’re all free! From innovative art installations to cultural showcases, these exhibitions offer enriching experiences for seniors to enjoy. Read on to find out more about these exhibitions!
1. Experience Southeast Asia’s Exclusive Inside Out 2 Outdoor Carnival at Gardens by the Bay
Embark on an exciting journey at the Supertree Grove in Gardens by the Bay, as it undergoes a whimsical transformation into an Inside Out 2-themed outdoor carnival, featuring interactive installations starring beloved characters from the movie. Join us for an adventure alongside core Emotions—Joy, Anger, Sadness, Fear, and Disgust, as well as new Emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment, exploring the complexities of emotions through play. Celebrate the 10th Edition of the annual Children’s Festival in style, connecting with your favorite Emotions amidst the stunning backdrop of the Supertree Grove. This event promises fun for all ages during the June School Holidays, till 22 June 2024. Admission is free, and the carnival is open to the public from 10 AM to 9 PM.
2. 10th Edition of I Light Singapore Shines Bright at Marina Bay and Neighbouring Precincts
The theme for this year’s i Light Singapore draws inspiration from the cyclical nature of our environment, with a predominant focus on the color green, symbolizing nature and sustainability. Across Marina Bay, South Beach, Millenia Walk, and Tanjong Pagar, a total of 17 artworks created by 25 artists will be on display. Continuing the tradition of previous years, these installations incorporate energy-saving lighting and eco-friendly materials, promoting sustainable practices among festival attendees. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the contemplative and interactive artworks, which explore the infinite possibilities of repurposing, restoring, and redesigning everyday objects.The i Light Singapore event, running from May 31st to June 23rd, 2024, offers free admission to its installations across Marina Bay, South Beach, Millenia Walk, and Tanjong Pagar. Visitors can explore 17 captivating artworks by 25 artists, all inspired by the theme of Cyclical Nature and the color green, symbolizing nature and sustainability. Operating hours are from 7:30 PM to 11 PM on Sundays to Thursdays and from 7:30 PM to 12 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. While entrance to the event is free, certain attractions may require paid admission.
3. Muji Miniature Exhibition – Enjoying Everyday Items by artist Tatsuya Tanaka at Plaza Singapura
From now until June 25th, seniors are encouraged to visit the “small MUJI exhibition – Enjoying Everyday Items” at MUJI Plaza Singapura. This captivating exhibition features the imaginative miniature artworks of Japanese artist and photographer Tatsuya Tanaka, who skillfully utilizes MUJI stationery and household objects in his creations. From calculators to staple bullets, towels, and even makeup products, Tanaka transforms everyday items into extraordinary scenes. With a total of 16 original works and three new creations depicting familiar sights of Singapore, this exhibition promises to delight visitors of all ages. Best of all, admission is free, and the event runs from April 26th to June 25th, with opening hours from 9 AM to 9 PM. Located just a 5-minute walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, MUJI Plaza Singapura is easily accessible on level 1, units #01-10 to 22.
