As such, many are on a hunt for value for money and affordable haircut packages that get the job done. Especially so for seniors, affordable haircuts might be a priority for them. With so many good deals and packages going around, it is easy to be drawn to these value for money deals. However, it pays to be wary of scams and hard selling that goes on in these hair salons. Headlines as such are pretty commonplace “85-year-old Singaporean allegedly overcharged S$99 after S$8 haircut for extra treatment at Ang Mo Kio Salon”. These salons draw customers in and especially unassuming seniors with the cheap prices and then the stylist often hard sells hair packages that require one to make upfront payment.
Whilst not saying that all hair salons with good offers utilise such tactics, it does not hurt to be extra careful and when in doubt, seniors should be accompanied by a family member.
